Yingrui Zao Huang leads the cleanroom operations and purge team at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, overseeing the largest ISO7 cleanroom in North America. He holds a Master’s degree in Space Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland. Zao has extensive experience in cleanroom operations and contamination control, having worked on significant projects such as the James Webb Space Telescope.

 

Zao’s career at NASA began as a contamination control engineer, where he was responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of critical components and systems. He later served as the deputy integration and testing lead for NASA’s robotics mission, where he managed the integration and testing of complex robotic systems. His expertise in cleanroom technology and contamination control has been instrumental in maintaining the high standards required for NASA’s missions.

 

As the cleanroom operations and purge team lead, Zao is responsible for managing the cleanroom facilities at NASA Goddard, ensuring they meet the highest standards of cleanliness and operational efficiency. His work involves developing and implementing contamination control protocols, conducting regular cleanroom performance tests, and overseeing the maintenance and upgrades of cleanroom facilities.
