Stephen Ward brings 35 years of experience in the cleanroom and contamination control industry. He currently serves as the Managing Director of T-SQUARED Validair Limited. Stephen began his career as a cleanroom test and certification engineer and has held several progressive roles within the company, formerly known as Validair (Euro) Limited. Over the years, he has developed extensive expertise in GMP validation support services and consultancy within the Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, and Biotechnology industries.

 

Stephen’s responsibilities include generating User Requirement Specifications, Validation Plans, and Qualification Protocols (URS, VMP, DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ). His wealth of experience enables him to advise organizations on various clean air containment and contamination control matters, guiding them through the complex stages of new build cleanroom projects. As Quality Manager from 1995 to 2000, Stephen implemented an ISO 9001 quality management system at Validair and achieved accreditation by BSI.

 

In 1997, Stephen became Technical Director, a role he held until 2018. During this period, he gained valuable experience in auditing, project coordination, design and development, and training. In 2018, he transitioned to the role of Managing Director, where he oversees the management, operations, and forward development of Validair.

 

Stephen is actively involved in standardization and professional societies. He serves as the Chair of the BSI LBI/30 Cleanroom Technology Committee and is the Secretary of the Contamination Control Network (CCN), the UK’s cleanroom and contamination control society. He is also the UK technical expert on the ISO/TC/209 technical committees, contributing to updates on ISO 14644-3 (Test Methods), ISO 14644-4 (Design, Construction & Start-Up), and ISOTR14644-21 (Airborne Particle Sampling Techniques).

 

Additionally, Stephen is a board member and examiner for the Cleanroom Testing and Certification Board (CTCB-I), which offers certification courses and exams for test engineers in the contamination control testing industry. His contributions to the field have been instrumental in advancing cleanroom technology standards and practices, reflecting his commitment to innovation and quality assurance in contamination control.
