Eduardo Bernar

Satellite Assembly Integration and Test Engineer

Eduardo Bernar is a Satellite Assembly, Integration, Verification & Validation (AIT/AIV) Engineer at ESA, with over 15 years of experience across the European space sector. He currently leads system-level integration activities for the Greek National CubeSat Programme and the development of the Hellenic Assembly Integration and Testing Facility (HAITF), a new national space test centre. He has also contributed to ESA missions such as Eagle-1, HummingSat, and has supported launch campaigns on different missions.

 

Previously, Eduardo served as Project Manager at the European Test Services (ETS) in the ESTEC Test Centre, overseeing major environmental test campaigns for flagship ESA missions including JUICE, PLATO, Solar Orbiter, ExoMars, Galileo, and Ariane 6. His background includes spacecraft mechanical design, propulsion, and aerothermodynamics engineering from his early work at Sener (Spain), notably for ExoMars 2016.

 

Eduardo holds an MSc in Industrial Engineering with a specialisation in Mechanical Design and Aerospace Technologies. He has received advanced training in Space Systems Engineering, System Verification & Validation and Project Management.

 

Fluent in Spanish and English, he has also contributed to ESA communication efforts via TV broadcasts, technical papers (e.g., ECSSMET), and public outreach events. Eduardo is a recognised ESA ambassador, mentoring emerging industry actors and supporting knowledge transfer to academia.
