Conor Murray has over 35 years of experience in cleanroom and biosafety lab design and construction. Since 2007, he has worked independently in oversight and consulting roles. Conor represents Ireland in ISO/TC209 and CEN/TC243 focusing on cleanroom standardization. He is the Convenor of ISO/TC209 WG2 on microbiological control and the Chair of the Healthcare Services Committee for NSAI. Conor is also the Chair of the Irish Cleanrooms Society and has lectured internationally. Conor is Chair of the Irish Cleanrooms Society (ICS), a Chair of the International Confederation of Contamination Control Societies, (ICCCS). Conor lectures internationally and gives cleanroom training and education courses on behalf of the ICS.
Conor is a past President of the ASHRAE Ireland chapter and currently RVC for Region XIV on CTTC (Chapter Technology Transfer Committee), a member of the EHC Environmental Health Committee) and RAC (Research Administration Committee). He is a member of various TCs, including 2.4 Air Cleaning Devices, 2.9 Far UV-C and 9.11 Clean Spaces.
Conor’s professional journey began with a degree in Process Engineering, which laid the foundation for his extensive career in cleanroom technology. Over the years, he has been involved in various high-profile projects, contributing to the development of cleanroom standards and guidelines. His work has been instrumental in advancing contamination control technologies and practices.
As a consultant, Conor has provided valuable insights and guidance to numerous organizations on cleanroom design, construction, and operation. His expertise in microbiological control has been particularly valuable in ensuring the safety and quality of products manufactured in cleanrooms. Conor’s contributions to the field have been recognized through numerous awards and accolades.

His work involves developing and implementing cleanroom standards, conducting audits and inspections, and providing training and education on cleanroom technology. Conor is also actively involved in industry associations and committees, where he plays a key role in shaping the future of cleanroom technology.
